TRUST CLASSIFICATION GUIDE

How to read the trust stamp.

View guide

The stamp communicates Gage Consulting's level of professional familiarity with each independent collaborator. It is context for an introduction—not a guarantee of availability, scope, or future performance.

Gage ProvenGage has worked directly with this professional in delivery settings and has observed their skill, reliability, judgment, and follow-through.
Gage TrustedAn established professional relationship gives Gage confidence in the person's relevant experience, credibility, and collaborative approach.
Established PeerA known consulting peer with relevant experience and a positive professional reputation in the Costpoint or ERP community.
Specialist ReferralA professional identified for a focused capability. Gage will share the basis and limits of its familiarity when coordinating the introduction.
Independent by design. Collaborators are not employees, partners, agents, or affiliates of Gage Consulting. Each professional independently confirms fit, availability, engagement terms, and responsibility for their work.
CAPABILITY CLASSIFICATION

How Gage reads experience.

View guide

The classification combines years in the field with separate 1–5 assessments of functional, technical, architecture, and leadership depth. It describes how someone can contribute without reducing their experience to one unexplained score.

01 · Junior ConsultantBuilding a dependable foundation; typically benefits from defined scope, review, and senior guidance.
02 · ConsultantCan own defined work, apply relevant expertise, and deliver within an established approach.
03 · Senior ConsultantBrings deep delivery judgment, handles ambiguity, and can lead complex workstreams.
04 · Solution ArchitectConnects business, application, data, integration, and control decisions into a durable solution.
OrientationFunctional, Technical, Hybrid, or a leaning is calculated from the relative functional and technical depth ratings.
LeadershipShown separately as Individual Contributor, Team Lead Capable, or Delivery Leader. Architecture does not automatically imply people leadership.
Experience dimensionsExpertise, Applications, Databases, and Web Services show the specific evidence behind the classification.
Gage editorial assessment. These classifications reflect professional judgment and information available to Gage Consulting. They are not certifications, employment grades, or guarantees of performance.
Introductions, not affiliations.

Gage Consulting can help coordinate an introduction or a broader team. The collaborator remains independent and decides whether and how to respond.

Costpoint should strengthen the
business—not complicate it.

Gage Consulting helps government contractors translate complex operational, accounting, compliance, and reporting needs into a Costpoint environment their people can run with confidence. Senior functional and technical leadership stays close to the work from current-state discovery through stabilization.

Experience is strongest

CLIENT OUTCOMEOUTCOME 01
GROUND-TO-CLOUD IMPLEMENTATION

Moving to the cloud required more than migrating eighty-plus extensions.

Client situation
A mature Costpoint environment was preparing for a ground-to-cloud transformation with more than 80 custom extensions. Like many organizations, the client did not fully understand the size and interconnected nature of its customization footprint until a deliberate inventory exposed it. The move also introduced new cloud security, deployment, reporting, transaction-access, and data-warehouse considerations.
Gage role
Jeff immersed himself in the organization, listening closely and learning its operating model with the urgency of a long-tenured team member. He helped inventory and organize the extensions, translate them into the cloud delivery model, and establish a repeatable packaging and promotion process with quality checks, feedback loops, ownership, and controls.
Result
The customization portfolio was successfully moved into the new format and controlled promotion cycle. The refined process increased confidence in packaging and releases, balanced cloud security requirements with operating efficiency, and better prepared the business for reporting, transaction access, and future data-warehouse needs.
CLIENT OUTCOMEOUTCOME 02
CUTOVER RECOVERY & IMPLEMENTATION READINESS

A launch scheduled in two weeks needed clarity more than another countdown.

Client situation
After more than two years of implementation effort, a client was preparing to move from Oracle to Costpoint. The organization was exhausted by delays and increasingly willing to go live and address the consequences afterward—even though billing and cash flow depended on a reliable conversion.
Gage role
Jeff was brought in two weeks before the intended cutover to independently review the solution and converted data. He identified more than 200 issues during the first week and ultimately helped expose, organize, isolate, and drive resolution of more than 600 defects across the Oracle-to-Costpoint implementation.
Result
The client replaced launch pressure with evidence-based decisions, corrected critical defects, and crossed the finish line with a solution the business could operate. The intervention reduced the risk of widespread billing disruption and cash-flow impact—and demonstrated why an experienced guide must sometimes challenge the date to protect the outcome.
CLIENT OUTCOMEOUTCOME 03
READINESS THROUGH STABILIZATION

When a billing conversion issue surfaced, the response protected Day 1 operations.

Client situation
During a phased implementation for one of the largest Costpoint environments, converted billing records carried the wrong disclosure treatment. A large population needed to be corrected before the next business day to avoid disrupting government-contract billing.
Gage role
Serving as part of the liaison and hypercare team connecting the client and software provider, Jeff helped isolate defects, reproduce them in the vendor environment, move fixes toward production, and support each go-live wave. For this cutover issue, he designed and presented a controlled SQL correction and worked alongside the client team through the night to execute and validate it.
Result
The records were corrected before users returned, billing continued with little to no operational disruption, and the solution proved reliable under real production pressure. It became an early demonstration of the responsiveness, technical depth, and commitment Jeff brings through stabilization—not only through go-live.

Jeff Gage, founder of Gage Consulting
Jeff GageFounder & ERP Transformation Leader
HOW I SEE THE WORK
“The system is only ready when the business can operate it—and the leaders approving it understand exactly what they are accepting.”

My work centers on organizations using or preparing to adopt Deltek Costpoint. I lead implementations and reimplementations, help consolidate acquired entities, coordinate functional and technical teams, and stay engaged through testing, cutover, Go-Live, and stabilization.

I also design the connective tissue around the ERP: Concur and ADP integrations, Cognos reporting, interfaces, extensions, stored procedures, and workflow documentation that makes current-state realities and future-state decisions visible.

The goal is not more technology. It is a better operating organization—with clear processes, dependable information, accountable decisions, prepared people, and fewer surprises on Day 1.

DIRECT, SENIOR-LEVEL GUIDANCE

Let’s talk about where your Costpoint program needs clarity.

Why Gage Consulting

Depth that connects.
Clarity that accelerates.

The advantage is not simply knowing the business or knowing the technology. It is being able to move between both, translate the implications, lead the right mix of internal and external resources, and keep the complete decision connected from executive intent through stable production.

INVESTED IN THE OUTCOME

Through the finish line.
Beyond hypercare.

Gage Consulting is invested in helping clients maximize Costpoint within reason: using the platform well, avoiding complexity that does not earn its keep, and leaving the organization ready for what comes next.

01

Maximize what Costpoint already does

Architect the configuration around business value, controls, maintainability, and adoption before adding customization or another application.

02

Bring the right team to the decision

Lead client resources, implementation partners, and trusted specialists as one coordinated team with visible ownership and clear decision rights.

03

Stay accountable after go-live

Carry the program through stabilization, move unresolved work into a governed improvement backlog, and help the organization transition from hypercare to continuous improvement.

Do the right work now. Build the capability to improve tomorrow.
